Let’s just admit it, nutrition advice can be very confusing, even from the “experts” – and it’s often contradictory: high-fat, low-fat, high-protein, low-carb…the mind reels! The only thing everyone seems to agree on is that vast amounts of chocolate and cake are a no-no. Too bad, I’ve been consuming them as a major food group for years! Recently, Real Simple magazine asked top nutritionists and dieticians for the 30 healthiest foods to incorporate into a healthy eating strategy https://bit.ly/Y2NjrY – and yes, of course mushrooms made the grade. “Mushrooms (are) meaty and filling, (and) as a stand-in for beef they can slash up to 400 calories from a meal,” says the article. “They may also protect against breast cancer by helping to regulate a woman’s estrogen levels.” So if you now feel like a bit more fungi in your diet, try their recipe for Grilled Steak, Mushroom and Green Bean Salad https://bit.ly/1vzmlWq.
