Every wife and mother loves a nice Friday night off from cooking and washing up. And with budgets still a little squeezed, eating out really has become a treat! If you are looking for mushrooms on the menu, two of my dinner favourites are: Piatto Cordon Bleu – chicken breast filled with mushrooms, cheese and bacon, crumbed, shallow fried and served with a mushroom and sundried tomato sauce,; and the fillet with cream herb mushroom sauce from Doppio Zero, Both restaurants have enough of a grown-up menu and chilled, convivial buzz to make you feel you have escaped the housework drudge for a little while, yet you don’t have to be on tenterhooks in case one of the kids drops half their spaghetti in their lap.
