I’m always on a diet – it may not be reflected on my plate sometimes (ok, a lot of the time!) but in my head I’m always plotting how I’m going to turn it all around and wow everyone with my dropped-two-dress-sizes transformation. You too? Well it’s led me to a new addiction – kilojoule-counting smartphone apps! There are loads out there, and most are free https://bit.ly/1NDXjNk. It’s one of the reasons I love blending meat and mushrooms – by simply using a 50/50 ratio of minced meat (beef, chicken, ostrich, whatever you like) and finely chopped button mushrooms in burgers and lasagne, they can convincingly be called diet food. There are only 103kJ in 100g (about three) button mushrooms, so you do the maths… or at lest let your app get on with it.
