Go Bokke

Wow, watching South Africa play in the Rugby World Cup has been nerve-wracking! I’m with them that the win is all in the mind, so I’m planning a celebration tomorrow for after we trounce those All Blacks. And how do South Africans celebrate? Beer, beef and braai, of course!

Beef, Bacon and Mushroom Kebabs https://bit.ly/1LElmZ1

You will need 12 bamboo or metal skewers

Ingredients

6 (about 690g) beef fillet steaks, cut into 2.5cm pieces

24 (about 700g) bacon rashers, halved lengthways

48 dried bay leaves

12 button mushrooms, halved

Method

1 Preheat your braai to medium-high.

2 Thread bacon, beef, bay leaves and mushroom onto 1 skewer, wrapping the bacon around the beef.

3 Repeat to make 12 kebabs.

4 Cook the kebabs for about 2-3 minutes each side for medium or cooked to your liking. Transfer to a plate, cover with foil and set aside for 5 minutes to rest.
