Beef is a great source of essential amino acids, which are the building blocks of muscle. However, if you want to lose weight with muscle gain, then consume foods that are rich in protein and low in calories. One of the best muscle building vegetables that you should consider are mushrooms - they are perfect because they're low in calories, high in fibre but yet at the same time pack a powerful protein punch. Spinach is high in blood-boosting iron that is better absorbed by the body when eaten with Vitamin C - found in red peppers. Fresh vegetables contain slow-release carbohydrates, fibre and essential nutrients to keep you firing on all cylinders.
